Monograms for Individuals:

The most common rule is:first name initial, last name initial and middle name initial, in that order.  So... Sara Jane Morgan would look like SMJ.

Monograms when Married:

Here you have two choices....

1. Modern Monogram:The common rule is Woman's First Name, Married Last Name, Husband's First Name.  So Sara Jane Morgan married Jack Cooper Brown their monogram would look like SBJ.
2. Traditional Monogram: The most common rule is Woman's First Name, Married Last Name, Woman's Maiden Name.  So Sara Jane Morgan married to Jack Cooper Brown would look like SBM.
